Baton Turns Up in Motor Vehicle Search

Marijuana also found in village man's car, according to Ridgewood police

Police say a 32-year-old man had a little more than just weed in the car when he finally pulled over.

Ridgewood Police Cpt. Jacqueline Luthcke said Ptl. John Chuck initiated a motor vehicle stop on Godwin Avenue on Jan. 8. The driver, however, did not stop until he was over the Midland Park border, Luthcke said.

Chuck found marijuana and also a tactical baton upon a search of the vehicle, police said. Jason Roth, 32, of Ridgewood, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of an unlawful weapon, Luthcke said.
