Bergen County Warrant Sweep Nets Ridgewood Man on Drug Charges

Prosecutor’s Office investigators seized cash, drugs in six county warrant sweep, authorities say.

One Ridgewood man was among 20 people arrested Thursday by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force in a drug warrant sweep spanning six counties, authorities said.

The arrests came as a result of undercover drug investigations the task force conducted over the past 12 months, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said in a statement Friday.

Investigators seized two pounds of marijuana, more than one-half ounce of cocaine and approximately 100 pills of prescriptions drugs, along with about $3,200 in cash, the prosecutor said.

In the village, E. Ridgewood Ave. resident Omar Sadek, 18, was arrested on charges of distribution of marijuana. Records show he was released on his own recognizance on Thursday.

Arrests were made in other nearby towns, including HackensackRiver Edge and New Milford
