Bridge Replacement to Close Lake Avenue for 9 Months
Traffic to be detoured onto Godwin Avenue.
A bridge replacement on the Midland Park/Ridgewood border will impact commuters accustomed to using Lake Avenue as an easy cut-thru to Goffle Road and Route 208.
The county has issued a notice to proceed for the replacement of the Lake Avenue bridge, with work scheduled to start Tuesday.
The bridge is in Midland Park but will certainly impact travelers in the village. Traffic will be detoured through already-clogged Godwin Avenue for the duration of the project.

Making a left turn from Godwin onto Goffle Road is already messy work at peak hours and figures to worsen with the detour.
