Dogs Escape After Burglar Strikes Northern Parkway Home

Neighbor returns dogs to the home; police are still seeking suspects.

An alert neighbor prevented a bad situation from getting much worse after a burglar grabbed several televisions from a Northern Parkway home and let the homeowner's four dogs out of the house, said.

According to Sgt. Peter Bolten, a Northern Parkway resident observed three of his next door neighbor's dogs lounging in the front yard on Monday afternoon. The homeowner's fourth dog, however, was missing.

The neighbor, according to Bolten, saw the front door open and then took the three dogs to the rear yard. It was there where he saw a chair placed under a window, with a cut screen. The yard gate was open and the rear door was also open, Bolten said.

Two flat screen televisions were reported stolen, according to the report.

No suspects have been identified and authorities are continuing to investigate the burglary, Bolten said. Fortunately, the fourth dog was found in the neighborhood and returned, police told Patch.

The Monday incident is just the latest in a flurry of burglaries to hit the village in the last year.
