Car Fire Contained on Linwood Ave.

Fire officials dispense Friday incident.

A car fire in a Linwood Avenue driveway was contained by the Ridgewood Fire Department Friday.

Late May 29, fire officials arrived at 731 Linwood Ave. in a response to a vehicle fire in the resident's driveway.

Chief James Van Goor said a shorted electric motor in the rear passenger area triggered the fire.

Before fire officials arrived at 9:59 p.m., the homeowner employed a dry chemical extinguisher. Subsequently, the fire department used a small amount of water and a thermal imaging camera to put the remaining fire out, the chief said.

Crews successfully contained the fire to the driveway.
