Glen Rock police found drugs in a stolen car following a pursuit of the vehicle out of the borough and into Fair Lawn Sunday morning, according to authorities.

Officer Michael Trover stopped a black 1993 Toyota Corolla near the Fair Lawn border around 11:30 a.m. Sunday for an equipment violation, Detective Sgt. Eric Reamy said.

When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver, Richard Hollingworth, took off, according to police.

The 30-year-old Paterson resident led police on a chase on Fair Lawn Avenue, then down Chandler Drive, where he abandoned the car in a parking lot and tried to outrun police on foot, Reamy said.

After a brief foot chase, Trover tackled and arrested Hollingworth, the detective said.

Police said they found heroin and hypodermic needles in the car.

A passenger, Rebecca Santiago, 30, of Linwood, walked away from the car but was later pointed out to Sgt. Frank Riggio by witnesses, and arrested on a disorderly persons charge.

Hollingworth was charged with drug possession, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and eluding police, and is being held on $25,000 bail.

Agreed Mikka...Heroin is epidemic right now because they snort it and put it on end of cigs to start and then shoot it. It's everywhere. Tough times to raise children.

Oh, look who's here! You know the facts, huh? Maybe there's some truth to it, but you KNOW? // Also, nice job in botching a simple two-line post. Capital H. Period after Rock. Capital I. If you think I'm joking (not I joking). Comma after joking. And, it's "you're," as in "you are." // So, what, exactly, were you doing in school? ESL, maybe? Looks like it's time for some remedial English.

Relax Phil, go get a cup of coffee.

Prohibition is an absolute plague The real problem; the system that grants exclusive distribution rights to violent cartels, street gangs, most definitely is the problem. Legalize it, regulate it, make it safer. Do a search for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition LEAP

Mike, Preferably decaf. :-) // Just curious, however... Why are you so interested in having me relax? BTW, I'm very relaxed. It's just that seeing such ignorance in a two-line post is almost embarrassing TO ME, believe it or not, as there are far too many like Mikka out there; we have to live among them and, depending on the Peter Principle, have to live with some of their decisions.

First rate job GRPD! Sad that so much of this in and around our community. Any suggestion that we legalize heroin could only come from someone who has never seen what it can do to a good friend or worse yet a family member.
Phil Brooks December 10, 2013 at 05:21 PM
J.C., I've seen what it can do. Firsthand. I've also seen what cigarettes and alcohol can do, as well. // So, please be so kind as to explain the difference why two of the three should be legal and the other not as they're all poison.
