Firemen Contain Stillwell Pl. Kitchen Fire

The fire department responded to a 2nd alarm kitchen fire caused by a hot oil pan igniting cabinetry.

The Ridgewood Fire Department contained a 2nd-alarm kitchen fire that started when a hot oil pan ignited cabinetry and countertops.

The fire department responded shortly before 6:30 p.m. and managed to contain the blaze at 315 Stillwell Pl. to just the kitchen, fire officials said.

Both homeowners managed to escaped the fire, said Lt. Chris DuFlocq, though one of the homeowners was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene as a precautionary measure.
