GR DPW Worker Falls From Garbage Truck

19-year-old hurt his back, police chief says

A worker sustained injuries after falling from a garbage truck at around 9:30 Monday morning at Rock Road and Kent Road, authorities said

The 19-year-old worker suffered a back injury after his foot got caught on the back step as the truck accelerated, Glen Rock Police Chief Fred Stahman said. The worker fell and rolled on the ground, the chief added.

According to Stahman, he did not sustain life-threatening injuries and was transported to Valley Hospital. The chief, in an interview late Monday afternoon, wished the worker a speedy recovery from his injuries.
