Louis Lembo, Former Village Police Officer, Dies at 91

Lembo was also a WWII navy veteran.

A retired Ridgewood police officer passed away at the age of 91 on Jan. 30, according to his obituary.

Louis Lembo, of Somerset, NJ, was a Ridgewood police officer for 30 years, retiring in 1980. The Paterson native also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Following retirement, he worked as a security staff member at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

He leaves behind two sons, Donald and his wife Susan Lembo, of Suffern, NY; and Stephen and wife Robbin Lembo of West Milford, NJ. He was the grandfather of three.

A mass was held Tuesday morning at Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood. The burial will be held at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
