Glen Rock Man Charged With DWI After Pedestrian Strike on S. Broad St. in Ridgewood

Victim, also of Glen Rock, taken to Valley Hospital Friday night

say a Glen Rock resident has been charged with DWI and several motor vehicle summonses in relation to an accident on S. Broad St. Friday night that sent one pedestrian to the hospital.

According to the police report, Mitchell Lieberman, 48 of Glen Rock, was driving a red pickup truck northbound on S. Broad St. when he struck the back of two vehicles parked in front of .

One individual, identified as John Najarian, also of Glen Rock, was taken to complaining of head pain, according to the report. Police said Najarian also suffered from road rash and numerous scrapes.

A third party, getting into her white Lincoln at the same point as the victim, reported being uninjured in the accident.

Najarian, according to the report, was attempting to get into his vehicle when the truck rumbled through and struck the two vehicles. He was pinned underneath the truck until emergency personnel stabilized him and transported him to Valley Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, according to the report, looked down at his cell phone before crashing into the parked cars. He was charged with DWI and other motor vehicle offenses after police conducted a field sobriety test and a subsequent urine sample.
