Pedestrian Struck in Glen Rock Thursday Morning

Incident occurred in front of Bellezza Salon; driver charged with leaving the scene of an accident

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in front of Bellezza Salon in Glen Rock Thursday morning, according to police.

Captain Jonathan Miller said the female pedestrian, age 36, suffered a minor leg injury after being struck by a vehicle allegedly driven by a Fair Lawn woman on Prospect Street at around 8:30 a.m. She was not in a crosswalk when struck, Miller said.

"Originally it came into us as a 'check welfare' call, that a female party was seated on the side of the road," Miller said. "The driver of the vehicle apparently did get out, there was some discussion back and forth with the pedestrian and then the driver left."

The victim was transported to Valley Hospital by the Glen Rock Ambulance Corps.

A passerby was able to jot down the license plate number and the driver was located and later came to police headquarters, Miller said.
