Police Charge Hawthorne Woman for Alleged Trespassing, Drug Possession

Forty-two year old woman allegedly trespassed onto a Union Street residential property

Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on March 12, patrol responded to a home on Union Street on report that someone had trespassed onto the property. Hawthorne resident Julie Nowill, 42, was arrested and charged by Ptl. John Chuck with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and trespassing, according to police. She was released pending a future appearance in Ridgewood Municipal Court.

At about 12:30 a.m. on March 10, police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Oak Street and say they found a 56-year-old Ridgewood woman under the influence. The woman was charged with a DWI and a failure to keep right, according to police. She was released pending a future date in municipal court.

According to a resident on Manor Road, sometime between May 10 and May 13 someone entered her home and stole her laptop and iPod. Detectives are on the case, police say.
