Toy Gun-Toting Man Dressed in Black Alarms Glen Rock Residents

Glen Rock police are asking residents to be judicious in their Halloween costume ware after encountering a man armed with realistic-looking replica guns Friday morning.

Police in Glen Rock are asking residents to think carefully when choosing their Halloween costume after fielding reports that a man was donning all black and armed with handguns Friday morning.

According to borough police, several people called 911 telling dispatch they saw a man dressed in all black, walking down Maple Avenue by all himself. He was wearing a "realistic" looking gunbelt with two fake handguns, cops said.

"Thankfully, the officers did not encounter any problems with the man and it was quickly determined to be fake, but under other circumstances it could have been tragic," police said. "The GRPD wishes everyone a safe Halloween and check back often for updates concerning the curfew and storm over the next few days."
