A Paterson man was intoxicated when he was involved in a hit-and-run accident in the village last week, police said.
Javier Garcia-De Jesus, 28, fled the scene of an accident without injuries after striking another vehicle on Godwin Avenue last Thursday at about 10:55 p.m., according to police.
When officers caught up with him
blocks away on Gardner Road, it was determined he was intoxicated and
provided cops with a fraudulent license, according to police.
Garcia-De Jesus was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, reckless driving, having an uninsured and unregistered vehicle, and possessing a fraudulent government document. He was released after posting bail.
