Police: Ridgewood Man Hit Parked Cars, Arrested for DWI

Cops claim a man was drunk and on his cell phone when he drove into two vehicles parked along a side street Monday morning.

A 25-year-old village man drove drunk and crashed into parked cars in Ridgewood's Lawns neighborhood early Monday morning, according to police.

Police say Yong Won, of Ridgewood, drunkenly sideswiped two vehicles parked on Berkshire Road at 3:05 a.m. Police say both vehicles struck sustained heavy damage, as did his own car. The parked cars were unoccupied at the time of the strike.

Won was uninjured in the accident and was later arrested on charges of DWI, Ridgewood Police Chief John Ward said. He also received citations for reckless driving and improper cell phone use.
