Police: Thieves in U.K. Clear $1,600 From Resident's Bank Account

The Ridgewood police are investigating the report made on Monday.

Despite what the charge says, one resident claims to have not been in England.

Police reported that a Ridgewood resident told them on Dec. 20  that her bank account had been frozen due to multiple failed log-in attempts. The bank reportedly told the woman that someone with a similar account number attempting to access their own account had caused the issue.

Shortly thereafter, the victim provided information to unlock the account and then found that $1,600 worth of charges had been racked up in the United Kingdom. But she'd never been there. The Ridgewood detectives are on the case.
