Police: Woman Blows Through Light, Crashes Into Car

An 83-year-old Paramus woman was treated for injuries after a motor vehicle accident at Maple and Ackerman avenues in Glen Rock Thursday morning.

A Paramus woman suffered minor injuries after blowing through a light and colliding with another vehicle in Glen Rock Thursday morning, according to police.

Cpt. Jonathan Miller said the 83-year-old woman was driving north-bound on Maple Ave. and went through the stop light at the intersection of Ackerman Ave., striking a Subaru Outback traveling west-bound on Ackerman, driven by a Bronx, NY woman.

The Nissan Sentra, driven by the Paramus woman, came to a rest after crashing into a berm at a nearby residence. The accident occurred just before 9:30 a.m., Miller said.

According to police, the driver of the Nissan complained of chest pain after her airbag deployed. She was taken to by the Glen Rock Ambulance Corps. The occupants of the Subaru refused medical attention, Miller said.

Both vehicles sustained major damage in the Thursday morning wreck; each was towed from the scene.

No summonses have been issued related to the accident, Miller said.
