Reports of Burglaries Continue

Three burglaries in Ridgewood this week; one attempted burglary in Glen Rock

Reports that one homeowner spooked a burglary in progress last week didn't deter two others from snatching goods from Ridgewood residents days later, according to police.

On Jan. 24, a . Alarmed, the suspect escaped with undisclosed items from the bedroom, police said in a statement Tuesday. A K-9 unit and several agencies scoured the permited, but the individual was not located.

Just two days later, patrol responded to an alarm on Carriage Lane, a small street east of Route 17. The in Ridgewood since summer of 2011.

A rear sliding door was smashed and burglars ransacked the bedrooms, police asid. Authorities are investigating.

Marking the third home burglary in four days, a Crest Road (West Side) resident reported on Jan. 28 that gift cards and other items were stolen from his carriage home.

In Glen Rock, which has seen far fewer burglaries than Ridgewood over the last six months, police said there was an attempted burglary on Thursday, Jan. 26.

According to police, the side door of a Berry Place home (near the Hawthorne border) was kicked several times, but did not open. No other attempts or burglaries were reported or found in the area, police said.
