Resident Arrested on Drug Distribution Charges

18-year-old stopped for marijuana possession.

Police arrested a Ridgewood resident on drug-related charges last week.

Luke Ishida, 18, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

Conducting a motor vehicle stop at West Ridgewood Avenue and Corsa Terrace, Ptl. Patrick Elwood determined that Ishida and another passenger were in possession of marijuana May 6 at 10:38 p.m.

The one passenger—a minor—was released to the custody of his parents pending juvenile court action.

  • An employee of Valley Hospital reported May 6 that her credit card was taken from her purse while she was working. The card was used to make several unauthorized purchases. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Police Detective Bureau.
  • A Westbrook Road resident reported May 7 that her home had been entered and the bedrooms ransacked. Numerous pieces of jewelry and watches were taken. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau and the Bergen County Sheriff's BCI. 
  • A Phelps Road resident reported May 9 that during the night her vehicle was entered and a portable satellite radio was taken. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Police Detective Bureau.
  • A student at Benjamin Franklin Middle School reported May 10 that his iPod and headphones were stolen from his school locker. The theft occurred May 7. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Police Detective Bureau.
  • The Ridgewood Police Department reminds residents that the department will continue its increased enforcement of driving while intoxicated laws. Officers will be looking for the signs of under the influence drivers and taking the appropriate action.
