Residents Report Lawns Section Without Power

Residents around the Lawns area say everything went dark at 10:30 p.m.; PSE&G says there were reported outages in Paramus, not Ridgewood

[Update at 12:18 a.m: Several residents are saying power returned just after midnight.]

Numerous residents have told Patch they are without power in the Lawns section of Ridgewood late Thursday night, though PSE&G says that simply isn't true.

According to the residents, power abruptly went out shortly before 10:30 p.m. in the area of southeast Ridgewood on the Paramus border.

A representative from PSE&G said there were no outages in Ridgewood but there were reports of an outage in Paramus. Spokeswoman Deanna Musikar said a tree fell on some wires and 6,100 Paramus customers were without power late Thursday. Crews were responding just before midnight, she told Patch.

Twitter user @ajaxtpc, of Ridgewood, said appeared to have power, but many neighbors were not as fortunate. It was a statement echoed by other residents in the area, despite PSE&G's Twitter account claiming all power had been restored by around 11 p.m.
