Ridgewood Police Beat July 22-August 2: 4 Arrests, 3 on Outstanding Warrants
A list of incidents reported by the Ridgewood Police from July 22 to August 2.
Ridgewood Police arrested four individuals last week—three on outstanding warrants. The arrests and other police activity are detailed below.
July 22
Paterson Man Arrested

Det. Douglas Henky arrested Luis Ramirez, 33, of Paterson on an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgewood Municipal Court. The accused was released after making arraignments to pay fines owed to the Ridgewood Court.

Wallet Items Stolen at Valley
A Midland Park resident reported that while he was a patient in Valley Hospital he had items taken from his wallet. He became aware of the theft when he found transactions to his bank accounts that he did not make. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.
July 28
Paterson Resident Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Det. Douglas Henky arrested Kiva Scudder, 42, of Paterson on an outstanding warrant issued by the Ridgewood Municipal Court. Scudder was remanded to the Bergen County Jail unable to post bail.
July 29
Woman Arrested on Shoplifting and Prescription Drug Charge
Officer Patrick Elwood was on a court security detail outside the Ridgewood Court Room at 4:21 p.m. Priscilla Gladden, 39, placed her bag on the table for inspection, and Elwood noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the bag. The bag was searched, and police found a bottle of prescription drugs that were not in Gladden's name. She was arrested. During the subsequent procedure, Det. Douglas Williams determined that numerous items in her possession had been shoplifted at the Ridgewood Stop and Shop. Gladden, from Paterson, was charged with possession of prescription drugs and shoplifting. She was released pending an appearance in Ridgewood Municipal Court.
August 1
Saddle Brook Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrant Charge
Officer Jeffrey Casson conducted a motor vehicle stop on Van Emburgh Avenue on Alexander Przekupowski's vehicle. During the stop it was determined that Przekupowski, 40, had an outstanding warrant issued by the Elmwood Park Municipal Court. Przekupowski, of Saddle Brook, was arrested after being charged with numerous motor vehicle violations. He was turned over to the Elmwood Park Police Department.
August 2
GPS Stolen
A Leroy Place resident reported that her unlocked vehicle was entered during the night and items were taken—including a global positioning system unit. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.
Bad Craiglist's Ad
A Witthill Road resident reported that he had found an apartment in New York City on Craigslist.com. He had contacted the advertiser and made arraignments to put a deposit on the apartment. He wired $2,100 before he realized that the ad was fraudulent. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.
