Ridgewood YMCA Releases Statement on Ex-Employee's Sex Assault Charges

Maintenance worker was arrested last month.

A Glen Rock man who was charged with sexual assault worked for the Ridgewood YMCA for five months that ended in early February, NorthJersey.com reported.

According to the report, Abelardo Ramirez, 46, was a temporary maintenance worker up until Feb. 7. Before that, he spent about a year and eight months working for Jannet International, the company that cleans the YMCA facility, the report said.

While he was working there, the YMCA received no reports of any issues with Ramirez, but is launching an internal investigation to, “assure that no inappropriate behavior occurred,” Y officials told NorthJersey.com.
