No students were on the school bus when it was involved in a three-car motor vehicle accident at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

No students were aboard a school bus that was struck by a car and collided into a tree in the woods off Route 208 Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Route 208 near S. Maple Ave., a vehicle struck a school bus which caused the driver to lose control, veer right and collide with a Lexus before striking a tree in the woods, Cpt. Jonathan Miller said.

The bus sustained significant damage, Miller said, but fortunately did not have students aboard. The male driver of the Lexus was transported to Valley Hospital with arm injuries, he said. No other injuries were reported.
