Accused Shoplifters Target Whole Foods

Several individuals arrested over a two-day span for allegedly taking groceries at the Ridgewood supermarket and not paying.

Food Basics in Glen Rock isn't the only grocery store occasionally targeted by shoplifters.

According to Ridgewood police, Whole Foods in Ridgewood saw three shoplifting attempts over a recent two-day span.

First, at about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, store security claimed Laura Smith-McCales, of Mahwah, attempted to conceal items in her bag and leave the store. She was arrested by Ridgewood police and released.

A day later at around 2:30 p.m. claims to have seen Christina O'Donnell, 22, of Wyckoff, place items in her bag and leave the store without paying. She was also arrested.

According to police, at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, store security saw Svetlana Morrow, 44, of Ridgefield Park, not pay for some of the items she had placed in the court. She too was arrested and released pending a future court appearance.
