Diapers, Bikes, Blankets Stolen in Ridgewood

Thieves have targeted residents and merchants.

A number of residents and businesses in Ridgewood have reported thefts, burglaries and shoplifting incidents in recent weeks.

An April 2, police fielded a complaint that the manager of Stop & Shop saw a man grab two pairs of diapers without paying. When confronted, the man fled. Detectives are still investigating the incident.

Wostbrock Carpets, on Goffle Road, told police on April 5 that four blankets were taken from the store.

Two teenagers girls were also suspected of running off with numerous items from Fembot on April 9, according to police.

Merchants weren't the only ones saying, "Hey, where'd my stuff go?"

A villager went to withdraw some cash from the Chase Bank ATM on April 3. While he left with money, he also left his cell phone. Upon his return, it was gone. 

A few days later, on April 6, a Kenilworth Road resident told police her garage was entered. In a bizarre "trade" of sorts, the thief stole a bicycle from the resident's garage and left an inferior one in her yard. Detectives are investigating the incident.
