Thief Steals Family's Minivan on Christmas Eve

Ridgewood police have no suspects.

There's a real scrooge driving around in a grey minivan, according to Ridgewood police.

Lt. Todd Harris said a resident of the Cloister Apartments on South Maple Avenue noticed the family's 2001 grey Nissan Quest parked in the driveway at about 6:30 p.m. Sometime during the night, it disappeared. A report was filed with police at 3 p.m.

The vehicle was parked with others at the time of the theft and was unlocked, Harris said.

There are no suspects but the vehicle has been entered into a stolen auto database. Detectives are on the case.

I feel terrible for the family that lost the mini-van on Christmas Eve and also hope everyone is kindly reminded to ... lock cars, doors, hang on to valuables, etc. Let's all try to take good care of our things, so the good police and detectives of our fine town don't have to spend time and money following up on these unfortunate incidents.

Unlocked? In this town of Lexi, Mercedes, etc what self respecting crook would stoop so low and steal a 2001 Nissan? Did he think he was in Glen Rock?

When you write up a story about any stolen vehicle how about including license plate number so people can keep a watch for it?

James: Scrooge changed. Yet all people talk about is the pre-conversion Scrooge. "Scrooge brings a little of the Christmas spirit into every day, respecting the lessons of Christmas more than any man alive."

BTW the #1 stolen car is the '97 Honda Accord.
