Storeowners at the Ridgewood Cycle Shop, at 35 North Broad St., reported a stolen global positioning system May 26. At 1:10 p.m. owners told police that a customer walked out of the store with a GPS unit.

The person left via bicycle, and patrol was unable to locate him.

Later that a week, a resident reported a stolen bike. On May 29 a South Irving Street resident reported that her bicycle was stolen from her yard May 22.

Both matters are under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.

With the return of the warm weather, the Ridgewood Police Department would like to remind residents that pedestrians and bicycle traffic will be increasing. They ask that drivers exercise caution when approaching bicyclists with whom drivers share the road.
