Upper Boulevard iPod Thefts

Police Blotter: Two residents report incidents Nov. 19

Three vehicles parked at an Upper Boulevard driveway were allegedly entered overnight Nov. 19. The resident informed police of the break-ins and reported a missing iPod. 

That same morning, another Upper Boulevard resident told police that his or her car was entered overnight and an iPod was also taken. 

The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.

Other police matters:

—During Ridgewood Municipal Court Nov. 19, a defendant allegedly became disruptive numerous times during session. The court officer spoke to the defendant numerous, and the Municipal Court judge stopped court in order to make the individual comply.

The defendant, a 21-year-old Old Tappan resident was charged with violating a Village Ordinance for prohibited conduct and released pending a Dec. 10 court date.

—A William Street resident walked into headquarters to report an incident Nov. 23 at 11 p.m. The alleged victim reported that she was at her home. At around 7 p.m. heard the door bell ring and numerous knocks.

However, she did not answer the door. She then heard noises in the backyard, turned on lights, and heard voices in the yard, as well. Later in the evening the victim noticed a ground floor window open and the shade pulled down.

Patrol responded to the home but did not find any evidence that anyone had actually gained entry to the home. The matter is under investigation by the Ridgewood Detective Bureau.
