Village, Borough Set Up Charging Stations for Residents

Somerville School in Ridgewood, Borough Hall in Glen Rock will be open to the public Wednesday.

With tens of thousands without power in Ridgewood and Glen Rock, the village and borough are setting up centers for residents to dry off and charge their laptops and smartphones.

Ridgewood will be opening the auditorium of Somerville Elementary School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents can charge their phones and ask Mayor Paul Aronsohn storm related questions. Food and water will not be on hand.

[Update at 11:58 p.m. Tuesday: The Woman's Club of Ridgewood will also be open Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in case residents need to charge their phones, laptops,etc.]

In Glen Rock, Borough Hall will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. for temporary shelter.

"Residents are welcome to come in, warm up, and charge their electronic devices in the Council Chambers," the borough said in a statement to residents.
