Wayne Man Implicated in August Burglary, Cops Say

Unrelated investigation in Passaic County leads to arrest of 24-year-old Wayne man in Ridgewood burglary case.

Police believe they've identified the man responsible for in August, a burglary that caused the homeowner's dogs to escape from the property.

On March 28, Ridgewood Police Detective Doug Williams arrested Yorghi Turkmany, 24, of Wayne.

While investigating an unrelated complaint, Pompton Lakes Police learned that Turkmany and a girlfriend were at the Ridgewood residence on Aug. 13, according to police. Under questioning, the girlfriend admitted she had been present with Turkmany, who police said committed the burglary.

Turkmany was charged with burglary and theft and remanded to Bergen County jail in lieu $40,000 bail.

In September, the Wayne resident was charged with aggravated assault with an automobile in Morris County on charges he injured another driver in a road rage incident. Other charges included DWI, driving with a suspended license, criminal mischief, and reckless driving. He was out on bail at the time of his March 28 arrest.
