Woman Sought by Cops for Theft Found in Jail on Shoplifting Charges

A North Haledon woman sought by Glen Rock Police for alleged thefts was already being held in Essex County on similar charges, according to police.

Police issued a picture and description of Susan Jeffers, 34, Wednesday night.

She had been identified by witnesses as a suspect in two shopliftings in the borough, Glen Rock Detective Sgt. Eric Reamy told Patch.

“They were aware of her from previous incidents,” he said.

The department discovered Thursday morning that Jeffers was already housed in the Essex County Jail.

According the county’s inmate database, she had been held since October on shoplifting charges out of Millburn, Marlboro, Kenilworth, Wayne, Shrewsbury and South Brunswick.
