Board Opening Public Comments on Valley Hospital Expansion

First public hearing comments session is May 20.

A public hearing on a controversial hospital expansion plan in Ridgewood has been set.

Expert testimony has wrapped on a proposed Master Plan amendment that would allow for Valley Hospital to nearly double in size, NorthJersey.com reported. According to the report, the village hospital is seeking approval to expand from 562,000 square feet to 995,000 square feet, and add a parking garage.

The proposal is set to begin taking public comments on it on May 20 at a 7:30 p.m. meeting at Ridgewood High School, with officials anticipating more than one day of comments, the report said. Officials will continue to hear comments at a June 2 meeting at Benjamin Franklin Middle School, it said.
