Daycare Proposal Sparks Traffic Concerns for Neighbors

Proposal before Paramus zoning board has elicited concerns over traffic around Linwood and Paramus avenues.

Plans to construct a daycare facility at the intersection of Paramus Road at Linwood Avenue has area residents concerned that an already congested area could become nearly unmanageable, according to a news report.

The Paramus Board of Adjustment heard testimony last month on I&E Enterprises' proposal to construct a 10,000 square foot daycare center - The Learning Experience - next to the Alpine Learning Center on Paramus Road.

Discussion last month centered on how the facility would operate pick-up and drop-off times and how it would affect traffic flow. Neighboring residents came forward with concerns about traffic backup caused by cars lining up to drop off their children during rush hour, according to NorthJersey.com.

The center would serve children from six-weeks old up to age five and would operate five days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. according to the news site.

Testimony on the proposed daycare center will continue on Thursday, Sept. 26.
