'Ghostface Killah' Backs Hackensack Democrat Against Garrett

Wu-Tang Clan member tweets support for Hackensack attorney

A member of Wu-Tang Clan, a popular New York hip-hop group, has endorsed a Hackensack Democrat vying for the 5th Congressional District.

Critically acclaimed Ghostface Killah, lesser known as Dennis Coles, tweeted support for Roy Cho, an attorney looking to challenge Republican Rep. Scott Garrett for the district's congressional seat.

“I need yall to check my man @roycho5 website http://www.roycho.com & help get him that CONGRESS SEAT,” tweeted the hip-hop star, noting Cho’s Twitter account.

The endorsement stemmed from Cho’s sister, Jennifer, who has worked in the music industry and talked up her brother’s congressional hopes with industry contacts, according to the New Jersey Herald.

Cho, 32, is eyeing his first run for public office and was set to hold a fundraiser in New York City, the report said.

Garrett, a conservative Republican, won his sixth term in November in a contest against Teaneck Deputy Mayor Adam Gussen. The 5th District was redrawn to move Democratic strongholds, including Hackensack and most of Teaneck, in with Republican-leaning rural areas in Sussex County. Still, at least 70 percent of registered voters are in Bergen County, the report noted.

I have met many people that have lacked trustworthiness and work ethic and the color of their skin or where they were born had nothing to do with it. Government assistance is one thing, having 3 or 4 generations of people, that have no intention of working, have multiple children with multiple partners, do nothing legally to support themselves to pay into the system, is another. (Did you see the guy in LA the had 22 kids with 19 different women and did not pay a cent towards any of them, the state was paying $10-k a month to support HIS kids), In fewer than 10 years, white people will be the minority in NJ and the USA, and I am sure that when that day comes, NO ONE will be worried about Minorities anymore.

Tony, I am glad to know that your views differ on the matter from Peter and Scott Garrett's, in your saying that "the color of their skin or where they were born had nothing to do with it."

Peter, You say that no one ever gave you a dime in your life and that "they" deserve everything that "we" get. So then why is so much of your anger being exclusively directed toward poor and socially depraved people and not at all toward privileged people who do not "work hard" and HAVE been given a lot more then "a dime" (several million or more) from the start? If a person is lazy and poor they don't take so much, because of the simple fact of the definition of what it is to be poor. On the other hand, if a person is lazy and rich they take quite a bit, because of the simple fact of the definition of what it is to be rich. The extent to which the one is a more serious problem in society then the other is obvious. Of course, you are entitled to be angry with all people who are lazy, irrespective of weather they are rich or poor. But if that is the case, then why are you directing your grievance so specifically toward those who are the least fortunate in America? And what about the fact that people don't generally have the same opportunities?

I've no idea whom you are talking to here. And, you're back to shouting. You seem to know much about me, even referring to me as Liberal, with a capital L yet. Liberals call me Conservative. I suppose I's somewhere in the middle; a thinking person. Not someone who purports to have all the answers and who is so insecure he has to shout them. I'm no liberal but I'm no bully either, I refuse to step on those who are downtrodden. Keep thinking that you are working to support poor people who refuse to help themselves. You are working to support the Koch brothers and their ilk and they are laughing at you as your station in life keeps slipping lower and lower. I will ignore anything you say for here on in. I had decided to do that earlier but I fell for you taunt. Adios Pedro
