Hauck a Lock to Win Council Seat, Provisional Ballot Numbers Suggest

With only nine provisional ballots needing to be counted, it seems extremely likely Hauck bested Ridgewood Mayor Keith Killion.

Though the results remain unofficial, it seems a virtual lock Gwenn Hauck has .

Village Clerk Heather Mailander said Wednesday that the provisional ballots still needing to be counted tallied nine. Hauck, according to unofficial results, captured 1727 votes, leading current mayor Keith Killion, who had 1711.

Absentee ballots, though counted, still must be verified by the county board of elections, Mailander said. The results are likely to be official by next Wednesday, she told Patch.

Unless a significant number of ballots are disqualified, Hauck has claimed the third of three seats and will be sworn in on July 1, 2012.

Councilman Paul Aronsohn and Albert Pucciarelli were the top vote-getters on Tuesday night, each with over 2,000 votes.

It is truly an amazing victory and I feel better about Ridgewood's future than I have in a very long time. This is truly the beginning of a new era for our Village. A turn for the better.

The hospital is there. We have to come to grips with that. Just like the weather is there and we have to come to grips with that. But unlike the weather we can do something about the hospital outcome.

James, can you post the voter turnout by district? The overall voter turnout was 23%, but it looks like some districts on the west side had [slightly] higher than average turnout. One district on the east side generated a 38% turnout, which is very impressive, even if the overall results did not go their way.....

Thanks, Boyd. Do you happen to know how the districts correlate with the school districts (e.g., which districts are Somerville, Hawes, Ridge etc.) ?
