Playground on Vets Field Could Receive Facelift

Project on list for Freeholder approval for Open Space Trust Fund Allocations

Bergen County's Board of Chosen Freeholders will be holding a public hearing in June on their proposed expenditures for the Municipal Park Improvement and Land Acquisition Program.

The program is part of the Open Space Trust Fund for 2010. Grants from the program will help municipalities fund improvements to parks and recreational facilities. The county plans to spend a total of $2,026,852 in 45 different communities.

Ridgewood is slated to receive $20,632 for the improvement of the playground on Veterans Field. Village Manager Ken Gabbert did not elaborate on what kinds of improvements might be upcoming for the enclosed playground.
