Rt. 17 Lane to Close for Night Work

Southbound lane of Ridgewood highway to undergo curb replacement.

Throughout this week, night owl drivers on Ridgewood's highway will travel in tighter quarters.

Workers will close one lane of Route 17 southbound from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday for the replacement of curb pieces and drainage grates, according to the Department of Engineering.

According to New Jersey Department of Transportation documents provided by Village Engineer Chris Rutishauser, the overnight work will close the left lane and shoulder from mile marker 19.62 to 17  and through Saddle River, Waldwick, Ho-Ho-Kus, and Ridgewood.

During the day, the shoulder will be closed to remove deteriorated curb and concrete will be poured for an updated sidewalk and curb. The day work, which also includes surveying, will continue through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. No lanes will be closed.

The road closing starts near Cameron Road in Saddle River and ends at Saddle River Road in Ridgewood.
