Street Renamed in Recognition of Glen Rock Resident

The service road entrance to the Glen Rock Recycling Center has been renamed to recognize one resident's green efforts.

The Glen Rock Borough Council on Wednesday officially renamed the service road entrance to the Recycling Center on Doremus Avenue to recognize a resident's advocacy.

The service road to the newly-renovated facility will forever be known as "Bill Gilligan Way," according to the proclamation read Wednesday night at the annual reorganization meeting.

Completed in October, the recycling center now has updated equipment and significantly more parking, shared with the nearby athletic fields.

Residents can now place all glass, tin and plastics in a single container. Other individual categories remain as they were prior to the renovation.

Gilligan, a Green Team member, declined to comment when reached on Sunday.
