$3K a Day? Local Homes Go on the Super Bowl Rental Market

Some homeowners are hoping to cash five-figure checks for the use of their homes by tourists coming to town for the game.

At what price would you be willing to rent your home out to strangers flooding into North Jersey for the Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium next month?

Some locals are hoping to rake in five-digit fees for the use of their homes by out-of-towners looking for a place in the area in the days around the big game.

Two Ridgewood homes are listed on Eventhomes.com, a website that connects homeowners with potential renters of houses nearby big sporting events like the Olympics, Kentucky Derby and Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

Renting of a seven-bed, five-bath Victorian would cost you $3,600 each night of your three to eight day stay. A three-bed, three-bath Tudor is being offered for $3,100 a day for up to 10 days surrounding the game.

Ridgewood is 13 miles from the East Rutherford stadium that will host the first outdoor, cold weather Super Bowl in the game's history. New Jersey officials are also hoping towns can cash in on the tourism and enthusiasm the event is expected to generate.
