Glen Rock Graduation Rate Highest in Bergen, Report Says

The school also had the highest graduation rate among public non-vocational schools last year.

Of Bergen County high schools, Glen Rock students graduated in the highest percentage last year, according to a recent report.

The Department of Education data collected by NJ.com shows that 99.4 percent of the borough’s high school students graduated in the 2012-13 school year, the fourth highest rate in New Jersey.

Among public, non-vocational high schools, the borough had the highest graduation rate in the state. Five of the schools that made the top ten were county vocational schools.

The report noted high graduation rates across county vocational schools, as well as a correlation between poverty and graduation rates. The percentage of children in poverty in the borough was 2.1, according to the data. Trenton, the district with the lowest graduation rate – 48.6 percent – had 31 percent of children in poverty.

Northern Highlands Regional High School and Bergen County Technical School were the other Bergen schools to rank in the top ten, with 98.8 percent and 98.7 percent, respectively.
