The Glen Rock Jaycees are pleased to announce that they are accepting applications for their annual scholarship award through April 28, 2014.
Thanks to a strong 2013 fund-raising season including the very successful Arboretum Run and the popular annual Christmas tree sale, the scholarship amount this year is $2,500. The scholarship consists of a one-time award given annually to a Glen Rock resident (current high school senior) to pay for college or trade school expenses.
In the spirit of the Jaycees’ basic purpose, the ideal candidate will be a civic-minded individual who has demonstrated a history of constructive involvement in activities and/or organizations that focus on the improvement of Glen Rock community life. Additionally, the applicants must be Glen Rock residents at the time of application and must be graduating high school seniors in good standing. The Jaycees Scholarship Committee will select the recipient and will announce the winner at the annual high school awards ceremony on June 4th.
Applications are available at the Glen Rock High School Guidance Office or by e-mailing Larry Shiels at Larry.Shiels@gmail.com or writing to the Glen Rock Jaycees, P.O. Box 152, Glen Rock, NJ 07452.
