No School on MLK Day in 2014 for GR Students

School board has approved 2013-2014 district calendar.

The Glen Rock school board is likely to avoid the criticism it faced this year when it decided students would go to school on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The calendar approved for 2013-2014 on Feb. 11 fulfills state requirements in instituting 182 student days and 185 staff days. Only two snow days are built into the calendar.

School starts up on Sept. 9 for students. The last instructional day is June. 19. Winter breaks runs from Dec. 23 through Jan. 2. Students will have April 14-18 off for the spring break.

Glen Rock's administration and school board faced some criticism for holding school on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Jan. 2013 to make up for instructional days lost to Super Storm Sandy.
