PHOTOS: Kids at Glen Rock School Stuff Pillows for 'Matthew's Hearts of Hope'

5-year-old with congenital heart defect was the guest of honor at this Academy of Our Lady Catholic School event.

The students and staff of the Academy of Our Lady Catholic School in Glen Rock recently took a day to make pillows for a cause. According to a release from the school, the "Matthew's Hearts of Hope" Foundation hosted an assembly there last week.

The group raises money for congenital heart defects. The Foundation was named for Matthew Hatcher, a 5-year-old with a congenital heart defect who was a guest of honor at the assembly.

Students (preK-8th grade) stuffed over 200 "Hug a Heart" pillows  and several volunteers from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and St. Catharine Church stitched the pillows, which are being distributed to heart patients in tri-state area hospitals.

And, as a surprised, the kids were joined by the NJ Devils mascot to mark the special day.
