Ridgewood BOE Approves Two More Administrative Positions

Board likely to hire a K-5 instructor and a supervisor of language arts at the middle school and high school level.

If the money's right, the Ridgewood school board will be ready to hire two additional administrators for the 2013-2014 school year.

Last Monday, school trustees voted unanimously to create positions for a K-5 supervisor and a 6-12 supervisor in language arts.

Administrators and the school board had agreed to fund the positions if state extraordinary aid figures come in at or above $1.3 million. Including benefits, the two positions would cost $320,000 of the 2013-2014 budget, Superintendent Dan Fishbein said.

Extraordinary aid numbers are expected to come in shortly; administrators have expressed confidence the state aid amount will be in line or higher than 2012-2013 figures.
