Ridgewood High School Dance to Feature Random Breathalyzer Tests
11 cops and 25 parent chaperones will be on hand at Friday night's event, report says.
Teens attending a dance in Ridgewood Friday night can expect to see police officers and random sobriety tests there, NorthJersey.com reported.
The annual Backwoods Dance at Van Neste Park, which is organized for Ridgewood High School students each year, will feature 11 police officers equipped with breathalyzers, the report said. The event, which is expected to draw 1,100 students, will also be staffed by 25 volunteer parent chaperones, the report said.
The dance is meant to provide students with a safe atmosphere and promote sober fun, the report said.

Last year, 10 students were turned away after trying to smuggle alcohol into the event, the report said.
