State Releases School Violence, Vandalism Report

Officials from the New Jersey Department of Education released Thursday the 2012-13 school year Violence, Vandalism and Substance Abuse in the Schools Report.

Ridgewood had 5,758 enrolled students with three incidents of violence, one incident of vandalism, two incidents with weapons, 11 incidents with substances and 16 HIB for a total of 33 incidents.

Glen Rock had 2,354 enrolled students with three incidents of violence, zero incidents of vandalism, and one incident each with weapons, substances or HIB, for a total of six incidents.

Across Bergen County, there were 71,018 students with 669 incidents of violence, 111 incidents of vandalism, 67 incidents with weapons, 185 incidents with substances and 402 HIB for a total of 1,400 incidents. No Bergen districts were among the nine most violent in the state.
