Registration for the Glen Rock Community School’s Terrific for Tots Preschool is underway. Registration can be made in person Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the GRCS office located in the Hamilton Lobby of Glen Rock High School.

The Tots Preschool offers programming for children from 18 months to 4 years old. The primary goal of Terrific for Tots is to provide an environment where children, through active learning principles, will continue to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically. Children in the program will gain greater confidence and have a good start in developing positive attitudes toward school, teachers and their classmates, while they develop skills intended to prepare them for their future school environment.

Terrific for Tots is the only preschool affiliated with the Glen Rock School District. Children of all races, religions and ethnicities are welcome at Terrific for Tots.

For the fall 2013 semester, the preschool will offer a 2 1/2-year-old class that meets two mornings each week. The 3-year-old class meets 3 days per week and is offered both in the morning and in the afternoon. An optional Lunch Bunch enrichment program is offered to extend the child’s day for an hour of "food and fun with friends." The 4-year-old class meets four days each week; both morning and afternoon classes are available. Those classes also offer the optional add-on Lunch Bunch program for up to three days each week.

Registration for the Mom & Tot class is also ongoing. Developed to meet the needs of a parent/caregiver and toddler age 18-30 months (by Oct. 1, 2013,) the Mom & Tot class is designed to encourage speech, motor, social and emotional skills through play and group interaction. Each class begins with a free-play period. During the latter portion of the class, children have separate, planned activities within the same room as their parent, who is participating in a group discussion on appropriate child-rearing topics.
