The American Red Cross of Northern New Jersey is proud to partner with the Glen Rock Township Municipal pool to offer the best in aquatics safety training!

 

All Learn-to- Swim levels are 30-minute classes, taught by professional Red Cross-certified Swimming and Water Safety Instructors. Swim level placement testing takes place on the first day of classes, to determine the best level for each child's needs and ability's. Please register your children for the session that best fits your family's schedule.

 

The newly updated American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety Program combines the best in swim instruction with an even stronger emphasis on drowning prevention and water safety. Courses are available for a variety of ages and skill levels to encourage a healthy, lifelong recreational habit and to help keep your family safe.

The American Red Cross has been the leader in aquatics training for more than 90 years. You won't find a more complete program that addresses the needs of swimmers at all levels- from beginners to advanced- and at all ages. Whether you’re looking for an aquatics program for yourself or your family, we have an affordable course that meets your needs.

 

Parents and Child Aquatics:

Developed for children 6 months to 5 years of age and their parents, Parents and Child Aquatics builds swimming readiness by emphasizing fun in the water.

LEARN-TO-SWIM

The prerequisite for each level of Red Cross Learn to Swim is successful demonstration of the skills learned in the preceding level. Beginners start at Level 1, which has no prerequisite.

The Learn to Swim Programs includes the following levels:

Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills

 Help students feels comfortable in the water and enjoy the water safely.

Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills

Gives students success with fundamental skills

Level 3: Stroke Development

Builds on skills in Level 2 by providing additional guided practice.

Level 4: Stroke Improvement

Develops confidence in the strokes learned and improves other aquatic skills.

Level 5: Stroke Refinement

Provides further coordination and refinement of strokes.

Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency

Level 6 is designed with "menu" options that focus on preparing students with a variety of activities. Options include: Personal Water Safety, Lifeguard Readiness, Fundamentals of Diving and Fitness Swimmer.
