"On Monday, August 20, 2012 the Diabetes Foundation will be hosting its 23rd Annual Golf & Tennis Classic at the prestigious Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, NJ.  This year, for the first time, a tennis portion of the outing has been added for players to enjoy clinics and round robin play on RCC’s beautiful Har-Tru courts and then take part in our evening festivities along with our golfers.

The day includes brunch, a round of golf or tennis, fun competitions, cocktails, dinner, prizes and much more.  The special guest speaker for the evening is Watts Wacker, one of the most celebrated and influential minds in modern business. A Time Magazine “Person of the Year” and one of the world’s most respected futurists, Wacker is a bestselling author, lecturer, political commentator and social critic. His uncommon versatility and vision has allowed him to help the world’s top corporations and organizations navigate the sea of change that is taking hold in the new millennium. Tracking your glucose levels will let you know if your treatment regimen is working or not; if your glucose levels do not improve, consult a doctor to find out why your treatment is not working and what other methods you can try for regulating your blood sugar and controlling your prediabetes. Part of diabetes prevention is checking and monitoring blood glucose levels. Pre-diabetes can be determined by watching this and managing it before it turns into full-blown diabetes. I wish they'd correct these things and be more specific. This was an event about TYPE 2 DIABETES, specifically. It should be called "Type 2 Diabetes Annual Gold & Tennis Classic" because it is, strictly, about type 2. Type 1 is a totally different disease. But, nobody knows that because of lack of attention to detail just like is shown here. Details, people. Details. *sigh*
