If you have an unused bike that it taking up space and gathering dust, you can put it to good use by donating it to a disadvantaged person. Please consider donating your bicycle to the upcoming bike collection on November 12th in Ridgewood.  The bikes and sewing machines donated will be distributed to people in need in developing countries through Pedals for Progress (www.p4p.org), The organization, started by former Peace Corps Volunteers who saw the need for basic transportation equipment in third world countries, has distributed around 130,000 bicycles over the past 20 years.

The club hosted a very successful bike collection in Ridgewood last year, in spite of the rain, and plan for a larger turnout this year. A small donation is also requested for each donated item to cover rising transportation costs around the world.

Volunteers are needed to help collect the bikes, remove pedals, and help load bicycles in the moving truck on November 12th.  Thank you for your consideration to help this charity started by former Peace Corps volunteers.  If you have questions or want to sign up to help on Nov. 12th, please contact Wade Wegner at w.a.wegner@ gmail.com
